There is a growing movement and education and children's health to get our children outside in nature. This movement advocates saving our children from 6 average hours of TV and computers a day, "nature deficit disorder" and growing child-obesity rates. This movement is entitled, No Child Left Inside. It is also a legislative act before the house in September.

Communities around the U.S. seek alternatives to public schools for philosophical or other varying reasons. Tucson has a number of charter and alternative schools from which to choose. Some educational methods will be described in this wiki and we encourage you to join in and collaborate.

Capoeira is an art form that combines music, singing, dance, martial art and acrobatics.

It is also culture, exercise and self-discipline. We believe children like a challenge, like to be noticed and praised, to learn new things and have fun.

Learning orientations describe the individual’s emotional investment in learning, strategic planning and self-directedness, and independence. Learning orientations consider the learner's proclivity to take control, set short- and long-term goals, commit effort, self-assess, self-manage resources, and take risks to learn.

A game is a structured or semi-structured activity, usually undertaken for enjoyment and sometimes also used as an educational tool. Games are generally distinct from work, which is usually carried out for remuneration, and from art, which is more concerned with the expression of ideas. However, the distinction is not clear-cut, and many games are also considered to be work or art.

Today, there is an ever-pressing need to connect children to the natural world and art. Children today have limited or nonexistent art instruction in the classroom, and spend less time outside than their parents did as children.

The leaders of the La Leche League are trying to undo this unfortunate shift of culture, and we thank you for it.
