LEGISLATIVE ALERT - Science Founation Arizona, C-Path

By Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2009

We need your action TODAY!

I am contacting you because the Arizona Technology Council is
doing everything we can to help grow Arizona’s economy and create jobs.
One essential program at risk of devastating funding cuts is Science Foundation
Arizona (SFAz).

The legislature is meeting in small groups on Friday trying
to finalize the 2010 budget.

We are asking you make phone calls to Republican legislators
with the following message:

  1.
You appreciate and respect the budget challenge
  2.
You really need them to step up and insist the 2010
budget must fund SFAz at a minimum of $17.5M
  3. We are at risk now of having corporate partners walk
    away from significant R&D partnerships
  4. Other states are trying to pick off parts of key
assets, such as C-Path in Tucson
  5.  We want to grow the "pie" through investments
in the innovation programs of SFAz
  6.  We will not solve our financial problems without
    innovation

Please consider contacting the following Southern Arizona legislators
with the above message:

Representative David Stevens:
District 25, (602) 926-4321 dstevens [at] azleg [dot] gov

Representative David Gowan:
District 30, (602) 926-3312  dgowan [at] azleg [dot] gov

Representative Frank Antenori:
District 30. (602) 926-5683 fantenori [at] azleg [dot] gov

Representative Vic Williams:
District 26, (602) 926-5839 vwilliams [at] azleg [dot] gov

Representative Russ Jones: District
24, (602) 926-3002 rjones [at] azleg [dot] gov

Representative Frank Pratt:
District 23, (602) 926-5761 fpratt [at] azleg [dot] gov

Such calls are most effective to legislators you know
personally, but every call will help greatly.

Thank you,

Justin
