Orixá Dance Workshops: Symbols in Motions
With live drumming by Batucaxé

• Sunday, October 26th, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
• Sunday, November 9th, 11am to 12:30pm

Silvestre Technique: A Brazilian Technique of Dance
Based on the Four Elements of Nature and the gestures of Orixa Dance

• Sunday, October 19th, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Sunday, October 26th, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

All classes will be held at The Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, 1013 S. Tyndall Ave., Tucson 85719 (map).

$15/single class, or $52 for a four-class series available during Rosangela's residency (good for both the Orixá classes and the Silvestre Technique classes).

Rosangela is also available for private classes in the Silvestre Technique and/or Orixá dance movement. For more information please e-mail dance@batucaxe.org.

And finally, Capoeira Malandragem will host Rosangela for an Orixa Dance Workshop, Friday, November 14th, 5 to 7 p.m.

Rosangela Silvestre is the associate director and guest choreographer of Viver Brasil Dance Company and is internationally renowned for her demanding dance training, the “Silvestre Technique.” A graduate of the FederalUniversity of Bahia, she has training in classical Ballet as well asModern dance in the Horton and Graham techniques. She has studied,taught, and helped to evolve “Afro-Brazilian” dance with Mestre King,Clyde Morgan and Mercedes Baptista beginning in the late 1970s. Visit Rosangela's website for more.
