Children, Nature and Art

By OUTSIDEART - Posted on 30 June 2008

Today, there is an ever-pressing need to connect children to the natural world and art. Children today have limited or nonexistent art instruction in the classroom, and spend less time outside than their parents did as children. Even recent legislation before the House Committee on Education, entitled the No Child Left Inside Act, seeks to improve environmental education and connect children with nature. Outside Art Lessons strive to fill these recognized learning gaps by introducing children to the beauty, wonder and functions of both nature and art through creation, observation and discovery.
