Exciting Summer Camp Choices for Children As Young as Age 4

By Music and Dance... - Posted on 25 May 2007

Music & Dance Academy is offering fun summer music and dance camps for children of all ages with sessions beginning in June.

Children ages 4 to 7 will enjoy the Little Princess Dance Camp where young ladies will feel like royalty as they explore a different princess theme each day through dance and hands on crafts. This camp premieres at the Academy's new location in Oro Valley near the Trader Joe's at Oracle and Magee (also offered at the Ft. Lowell and Campbell campus).

And there's more music and dance for children of all ages!

At Guitar Camp, campers explore different styles of guitar playing, including ensemble, solo work and visits by special performers.

In Blazin' Bows campers "Rosin up your bows, pull up your boots and join us for a fun-fiddling adventure! This exciting and energetic program will explore basic fiddling technique and repertoire."

Dance a la Carte provides an environment to nurture and encourage creativity and expression. Children develop confidence, aesthetic awareness, and creative expression through hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and improvisational dance.

Classical Ballet Workshop explores the beautiful art of classical ballet. Children develop balance, poise, grace, coordination, and confidence as they explore the magical world of ballet. Creativity, team work, and musicality are encouraged as students develop a story ballet for all to enjoy at the culmination of this enchanting workshop.

The Academy partners with Satori School this summer to offer music and dance in their Around The World With Music camp sessions. Camps vary by session and age and offer exciting options from Kindermusik Adventures to Hip Hop dance! Call Satori at 887-4003 for more information!

Older campers interested in a little swim time along with their music and dance instruction will enjoy the Academy's offerings at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Look for the Musical Tales, Hip Hop Dance, and Vocal Ensemble (also known as "Show Choir Camp"-the best of Broadway tunes!). Call the J at 299-3000 for more information.

Camps are offered in addition to special summer classes. Call the Academy at 520-327-2303 or 520-219-9950, or check out the website at www.maoft.com for details!
